The delegation raised the issue of central excise duty on bicycles and bicycle parts demanding to abolish the central excise duty of 2% so that the industry could compete in the market.

United cycle and parts manufacturers association president Gurmit Singh Kular brought to the notice of minister that due to non-availability of air connectivity, the exporters and traders had to waste a lot of time in travelling as well as for transportation of goods.

The delegation comprising Baljit Singh Lotey, Achhru Ram Gupta and Jagatvir Singh, requested minister to start another Shatabdi Express from Ludhiana to New Delhi so that industry as well as the people might get connected with the national capital.
