IPTA protests against vulgarity in Punjabi music

Members of the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA) protested against prevalence of vulgarity in Punjabi music here on Tuesday. The 100-odd members burnt a symbolic effigy of the growing trend and raised slogans, and submitted a memorandum to the district commissioner.

The 100-odd members burnt a symbolic effigy of the growing trend and raised slogans, and submitted a memorandum to the district commissioner.

The members also staged a street play to emphasise on an urgent need to take action against the wrong-doers. The group has earlier demonstrated protests in Jalandhar, Amritsar, Kapurthala and Bathinda.
