25-year-old Jalandhar resident has been arrested for sexually harassing a Sector 37 woman at the Fun City Block of the Elante Mall on Thursday evening.
Arjun Manchanda (25), a resident of Rainik Bazar, Jalandhar, was caught by her father, while touching the 23-year-old woman at the Mall on Thursday.
The father informed the guard and the youth was overpowered, before the police reached the spot.
CCTV footage revealed that Manchanda had harassed three more girls over the day.
During questioning, he told the police that he had arrived in the city on Thursday after travelling on a bus and was alone. A case has been registered against him under Section 354 (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code at the Industrial Area police station.
He has been sent remanded in judicial custody.
MAN HELD FOR PASSING LEWD COMMENTS
A 25-year-old resident of Dhand village in Kaithal has been arrested for passing lewd comments on a woman outside a wine shop at Kaimbwala.
The victim raised a hue and cry and the police arrived at the spot.
The accused Anil Kumar has been booked under Section 294 (uttering obscene act, song or word in or near any public place) of the IPC at the Sector-3 police station and has been bailed out.
