The Punjab BJP has scheduled statewide protests on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) controversy on February 20 as part of the party’s national-level Jan Swabhiman Abhiyan, to be launched on February 18.

State BJP president Kamal Sharma said in a statement here that party activists and leaders would “sensitise the masses against anti-national forces, particularly the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which were hell-bent upon dividing the country for vested political interests.”
The BJP leaders, including ministers and MLAs, would submit a memorandum to respective deputy commissioners in all districts on February 20.
Activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) would also undertake a signature campaign on the issue in colleges of the state, he added.
