Negi said Karmapa had cancelled his tour programme due to bad health conditions and Lahul-Spiti Gompa chief Lochha Rimpoche will perform the rituals and deliver a speech on the preaching of Guru Rimpoche Padamsambhav who is considered to be the re-incarnation of Lord Buddha.

The Guru Padamsambhav temple is situated along the historical lake at Rewalsar and followers of Buddhist religion from Tibet, Lahul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Dharamsala and rest of the country reach here in large numbers every year to participate in the fair.

According to the Buddhist religion philosophy, the Tsechu fair is organised to celebrate Guru Padamsambhav birthday and followers of Buddhist religion take holy bath in the lake and feed the fish in the lake besides offering their prayers at the temple.
