Khaira questions CM's double standrads

“The CM flew all the way to the US to mourn the death of cabinet minister Surjit Singh Rakhra's relative who had died in firing at a gurdwara there, but Badal has no time to sympathise with families whose dear ones are being murdered in the state by Akali henchmen. Why these double standards?,” state Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira said here on Friday.

Reacting strongly to the killing of a People's Party of Punjab activist, Khaira said the ruling party was spreading terror under a well-planned conspiracy to hijack zila parishad and block samiti elections. “The killing of PPP activist Jaspreet Singh Jassa at Adampur in Bathinda district on Thursday is highly condemnable.

The state is heading towards anarchy,” Khaira said. “The indiscriminate firing at Adampura, where nearly 60 rounds were fired from a gun of prohibited bore has exposed the police connivance with Akali henchmen,” he added.
