With an aim to improve efficiency in government departments and make delivery of services hassle-free, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has decided to set up e-governance awards for officials, departments and districts.

Stating that awards would also be given to e-champions for introducing and promoting IT initiatives in various fields, Khattar, while interacting with officers of the state government at Haryana Niwas here on Friday, said these awards would be conferred upon those who would exhibit sterling performance in implementation of various government initiatives and programmes through IT.

These awards would be given at a state-level function, he added.
