Presiding over a review meeting of agriculture department here, Khattar said the database would help in facilitating the actual cultivators with all types of compensation and assistance given by the government.

He made it clear that benefit of any type of financial assistance should go to cultivating farmers rather than owners.

Khattar who desired that insurance cover for polyhouses should be provided to the farmers in case of any damage, said sometimes polyhouse was damaged owing to strong winds. He emphasised upon establishing testing labs for foodgrains on the pattern of fruits and vegetables to check quantum of chemical residue.

He directed the department to reach out to every farmer so as to provide soil and water testing facilities to them.
