Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday gave his approval in principal to three different integrated schemes of about Rs 779 crore for smooth traffic flow on Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower and IFFCO Chowk junctions at Gurgaon.
Presiding over a meeting of senior officials of various departments here, Khattar gave approval to the estimated expenditure of Rs 224 crore for Rajiv Chowk, Rs 248 crore for Signature Tower and Rs 307 crore for IFFCO Chowk.
He also approved in principal to bear the expenditure of the proposed project by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and the Haryana government.
Khattar, who was informed at the meeting that the project report of the said project was prepared by Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System Limited (DIMTS), made it clear that no separate toll tax should be collected on these routes. He also directed to explore the possibilities of entry towards Udyog Vihar on Delhi to Gurgaon route. The DIMTS projects had been prepared with a view to reduce the proposed traffic load in Gurgaon for the coming 20 years.
Khattar directed the Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon, HUDA, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and public works department (building and roads) to hold regular meetings with NHAI so that the process of project implementation could soon be carried out.

Rs 353 crore for widening roads in Haryana
Chandigarh: As many as 31 roads - having a total length of about 260 km - would be widened and strengthened at a cost of about Rs 353 crore in Haryana.
Chief minister ML Khattar said on Wednesday that Nabard had sanctioned the said amount for 2014-15 and out of the total project, the strengthening and widening of around 162 km road falling under national capital region (NCR) area would be taken up a cost of around Rs 255 crore whereas about `98 crore would be spent on improvement and widening of around 98 km of other roads in the state.
