To avoid accidents, especially during the rainy season, the district tourism department has banned paragliding in the district till September 15.
In a statement issued on Saturday, district tourism officer Ratan Gautam said, "The paragliding has been banned under Himachal Pradesh Aero Sports Rules till September 15, because in rainy season, dense fog on hilly areas may cause accidents."
The department had also imposed ban on river rafting from July 15 to September 15 in the district with the onset of monsoon.
Right after the direction of National Green Tribunal, the department banned the paragliding activity at Rohtang Pass, Marhi and Solang since July 6 onward.
The tourism officer warned paragliding operators in the district to follow the direction, otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
