The woman had lodged a complaint with the Basti Jodhewal police station in this context.

In her complaint, the 26-year-old woman said she was married to Sandeep seven years ago. Her husband used to thrash her over petty issues, for which she had made a complaint to the police four-five months back. The police, taking preventive action, had arrested her husband under Section 107//151 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), but was bailed out later.

The woman further added that the police action failed to affect him and his attitude towards her remained the same. Following which, she had started living at her parental house, where she has been living since a past few months.

She said, "On Saturday, Sandeep came to her parent's house, raped me and fled after threatening me with dire consequences. I was alone at home at that time."
