Over 70 per cent voter turnout in Haryana
BJP Rohtak Lok Sabha candidate Om Prakash Dhankhar's brother-in-law Dara Singh got injured in a clash at Pandit Neki Ram government college around 4pm on Thursday. He was rushed to Rohtak medical college in serious condition. Dhankhar charged that when his brother-in-law objected to the bogus voting by Congress supporters, he was thrashed by a kin of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
93 people in Ambala; 14 in Faridabad; 75 in Gurgaon; 214 in Hisar; 8 in Karnal; 698 in Kurukshetra; 9 in Rohtak; 5 in Sirsa lined up after 6 pm to vote.
Poll percentage in Hisar, Sirsa and Kurkshetra crosses 70 %. The Total voter turnout in Haryana was 66 per cent till 5.30 pm.
Around 60.1 per cent of voting was recorded in Haryana till 5pm. While highest voter turnout of 66.6 per cent was recorded in Kurukshetra, a 50.4 per cent polling was recorded in Faridabad.
Nearly 60 percent polling in Haryana, Chandigarh
A total 57.6 per cent of voter turnout was recorded in Haryana by 4 pm on Thursday. With 64.8 per cent, highest voting was recorded in Kurukshetra while 47 per cent of polling was witnessed in Faridabad.
While 63.4 per cent of voting was recorded in Hisar, 64.2 per cent of votes were cast in Sirsa by 4 pm.
The vote caste registered in new Gurgaon localities such as DLF and other HUDA sectors till 1.00 pm was at around 48% as against the average 33% in entire Gurgaon parliamentary constituency. At some of the poolling stations in Sector 56, the polling percentage touched remarkable 52% by this time.

Meanhwile, following complaints in EVMs at Rahra (Assandh), Karnal and Balri (all in Karnal district) polling stopped for sometime in the morning. Districts election officer, Karnal, Balraj Singh said that seven machines had been replaced so far.

Congress Bhiwani-Mahendergarh nominee Shruti Choudhry, her mother state excise minister Kiran Chaoudhry today cast their vote at Bhiwani town. Similarly, BJP candidate Dharambir Singh also cast his ballot around 8 am at Bhiwani town.
Talking to media persons, Shruti and Kiran said that they were sure that people of the Lok Sabha would vote for honest and clean candidate on polling day. However, Dharambir Singh said that electorate would vote to end the corruption in the country. Heavy security arrangements were in place at the polling booth to maintain peaceful polling today.
Industrialist and two time MP, Naveen Jindal and his wife, Shallu Jindal were early birds at a polling booth, standing in a queue and casting their ballot at booth no 55 at Gita Niketan Vidya Mandir in Mohan Nagar, Kurukshetra at 8.15 am.

Nearly 1.61 crore people, including over 73.8 lakh women, are eligible to vote in Haryana to decide the fate of 230 candidates, including 10 women candidates. Nearly 45,000 police personnel and 74 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed across Haryana. There are 16,244 polling stations in the state.
Polling begins for the ten Lok Sabha seats in Haryana
All 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana go to polls on Thursday. The general elections are being seen as the semi-finals ahead of the assembly polls expected to be held later this year.
With the ruling Congress battling 10 years of anti-incumbency as well as infighting, opposition parties are looking to make major inroads.
In the general elections, Haryana will see a four-cornered contest of the Congress, the BJP-HJC combine, the INLD and the AAP, which is looking to spread its base outside Delhi.
