Earlier, a city-based resident, Baljeet Singh, had written a letter for the cancellation of the allotment of the land to the Welfare Society H-I.

The society till date has failed to pay the amount of the land allotted to them way back in 1985 and is running an illegal marriage hall in name of the community centre in BRS Nagar.

In November 2013, chief vigilance officer VP Singh visited to enquire into the details of the community centre and ordered the registration of an FIR against guilty LIT officials for missing records and files.

Baljeet Singh said, "The LIT had failed to take action on the directions of the vigilance officer. After which, I made a complaint to the governor and the chief minister of Punjab."

Now, the local bodies department has written to the LIT chairperson that since the department has not received any action report, an appropriate should be taken as soon as possible.
