Stating that after receiving complaints from the residents, he, along with the members of Sheetal Residents Welfare Association, Sector 51, and the residents of Mayfield Gardens, Sector 51, Gurgaon, visited the spots on April 19, justice Pal said that the condition of roads was found to be deplorable and worse than “kucha street of a village”.

Justice Pal also referred to the complaints pertaining to lack of the basic amenities such as water and electricity, and said that he was informed that many a times, potable water had to be purchased from private water tank owners. He said that the upgradation of electric sub-station was also hanging fire since long and no tangible progress had been made in that regard.

Entrusting the matter to Meena to take all the grievances of the inhabitants for redressal under Section 14 of the Haryana Lokayukta Act, 2002, justice Pal said that Meena would have all the powers of civil court while trying a suit in the context under the Act.

Hoping Meena would be able to redress all the genuine grievances of the residents within two months, justice Pal has also sought a detailed action taken report on or before July 7, 2014.
