Deputy commissioner-cum-district electoral officer Tanu Kashyap said so far 14.48 lakh voters had been enrolled and 100% EPIC (elector's photo identity card) coverage had been achieved. She informed that as per ECI directions, votes would be prepared till the last date of filing of nominations by the candidates, which is April 9.

On March 9, a special campaign would be held throughout the district for enrolment of left out voters, she added. "We are focusing on 100% enrolment of the youth who just have turned 18," the DC said.

"To ensure that no bogus vote is polled, we would provide the list of Absent-Shifted-Dead (ASD) voters to each presiding officer. We are committed to conduct a free and fair poll," said the DC. She informed that out of 1,494 polling booths in the district, 241 had been identified as sensitive and 56 as most sensitive, where additional security forces would be deployed.

"There are around 1,100 service voters in the constituency and we would ensure that they get due opportunity to exercise their right to franchise," the DC claimed. She revealed that scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on April 10 and last date for withdrawal was April 12.
