Ludhiana: Two held with stolen ready made garments

The Daresi police arrested two persons of a gang for burglary on Sunday. The accused stole readymade garments worth Rs 3.50 lakh from a shop in Kalyan Nagar on Friday. The police have recovered the stolen garments from their possession.

The Daresi police arrested two persons of a gang for burglary on Sunday. The accused stole readymade garments worth Rs 3.50 lakh from a shop in Kalyan Nagar on Friday. The police have recovered the stolen garments from their possession.

Two of the members of the gang are at large. The police have booked a shopkeeper of Khanna that used to buy the stolen garments from the accused.

The arrested persons have been identified as Gaurav Verma of Kuldeep Nagar and Gurvinder Singh of Baba Colony. Those who are absconded, are Lucky of Jaspal Nagar and Rahul of Kuldeep Nagar. The Khanna shopkeeper, who used to buy the stole items, has been identified as Sandeep Kumar.

Sub-inspector Sanjiv Kapoor, SHO at Daresi police station, said the police arrested the accused from Bajwa Nagar Puli on Sunday. The accused were shifting stolen readymade garments.

Kapoor said the accused had stolen garments from a shop in Kalyan Nagar two days ago. A case of theft was registered against the accused in this context on Saturday. The accused confessed during interrogation that they had executed burglaries after reccee.
