A woman and her four-year-old child were allegedly murdered by her lover at Karnail Nagar here on Monday morning. Bodies were recovered from inside the house. The victims have been identified as Sukhjeet Kaur (32) and Suraj.
Based on the complaint by Kala Singh, brother of the woman, the police have booked Jagga Singh, a resident of Raman Mandi near here, who works as a truck driver, under Section 302 of IPC on murder charge.
Bodies of both mother and son were found inside the house with foam emanating from their mouth. Blood was also oozing from the mouth of the woman. The woman, who was a native of Mehmra village in Fatehabad district in Haryana, was married to Ajmer Singh, who lives in Malaysia.
DSP, city-I, Gurjit Singh Romana, said that the accused used to visit the victim's house and had also gone there on Sunday night.
The bodies lying on the bed inside house were spotted by the daughter of the victim who was sleeping in a separate room.
The accused was at large and the police were on the lookout. The man allegedly had illicit relations with the victim woman, but the police were investigating into the circumstances which led to the crime.
