A man has been arrested for allegedly beating his wife to death at Bhagowal village in Batala.

BATALA: A man has been arrested for allegedly beating his wife to death at Bhagowal village in Batala.

As per the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Mangal Singh, 40-year-old Lakhwinder Kaur was killed by her husband on September 23 at Bhagowal village, the police said.

The complainant alleged that when he called his sister on the day of the crime, she told him that she was being beaten up by her husband Balwinder Singh.

When the victim’s family reached her house, they found her dead while her husband was missing, they said.

Mangal also alleged that his brother-in-law was a drug addict and used to thrash his sister often, the police said.

The accused has been arrested, they added.
