The Congress-led Opposition presidential candidate Meira Kumar will meet Congress MPs and MLAs of Punjab and Haryana on July 9 as part of her campaign for the July 17 election. “She will first meet MPs and MLAs from Haryana and then have a meeting with those from Punjab,” said former Union minister Pawan Kumar Bansal. He is accompanying the UPA’s presidential candidate during her campaign in different states.

The Congress has 77 MLAs in the 117-member Punjab assembly.
The party also has four MPs in Lok Sabha and three in Rajya Sabha from the state. In the 90-member Haryana assembly, the Congress has 17 members.
