The memorandum was submitted by Sandeep Sawhney, principal Doraha College of Education, along with professors Sukhwinder Singh, Neetu Sethi, Baljeet Kaur and Gaurav Kumar from the same college.

Sawhney said the memorandum was submitted owing to the death of the BEd college student on Jarnaily road in Doraha.

It was requested that the Jarnaily road from Army camp to Doraha village is a non-claimant road as NHAI does not take the responsibility of repairing the road.

The road is in a dilapidated condition and the repair work has not been done for the last three years. Immediate recarpeting of the road is required as more than 1,000 students/teachers of four educational institutes at Doraha village commute daily from this road.

Responding to the memorandum the SDM immediately ordered the EO for the construction of the road for which the tenders have already been floated. The SDM has promised to get the recarpeting work completed within 21 days.
