Minor gangraped at Moga village

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by four men at Chuharchak village in this district on Saturday night. According to police, the class-10 student was abducted from her house and was taken to a nearby house where the crime was committed.

The police have registered a case against Jagdeep Singh, Chaina Singh and Sukha Singh, who are brothers, and their friend Jagwinder Singh, all residents of Chuharchak village.

SHO Arvind Puri of Ajitwal police station said Jagwinder had been arrested while the others were at large.

The girl was brought to Moga civil hospital and a medical examination was conducted.
"The incident took place around 11 pm when the accused scaled the walls of the house and abducted her," said the SHO.

The victim recorded her statement with the police at the civil hospital saying she had identified all four accused.

The SHO said when the parents found the girl missing, they started looking for her. In the meantime, the accused left the girl outside her house in an unconscious state and fled the spot. When the girl regained consciousness, she sounded her parents and they informed the police, said the SHO.

"We have constituted a special investigating team. Four special police teams are conducting raids at various places to nab the accused," said the SHO.
