The police here have booked a 17-year-old boy for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl on December 24. They have arrested one Kamaldeep Kaur (24) for helping the accused to rape the minor.
A case under Sections 376 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act, 2012, has been registered at the cantonment police station against the two.
Investigating officer Jaswinder Kaur said, "The boy and Kamaldeep Kaur, who is married, are neighbours of the victim. Kamaldeep Kaur persuaded the victim and took her to a lonely house where the juvenile allegedly raped her and also threatened to kill her if she told about the incident to anyone. While Kamaldeep Kaur has been arrested, the boy is at large and will be arrested soon."
