Miss India receives warm welcome at Punjabi University

The Ponds Femina Miss India, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, has announced to donate 10% of her first earning for women empowerment. Navneet, who was given a grand welcome at Punjabi University here on Friday, is pursuing a media course from varsity's Centre for Advanced Media Studies (CAMS).

The Ponds Femina Miss India, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, has announced to donate 10% of her first earning for women empowerment. Navneet, who was given a grand welcome at Punjabi University here on Friday, is pursuing a media course from varsity's Centre for Advanced Media Studies (CAMS).

“During the question round at the competition as well, I had expressed my desire to do my bit for the women empowerment. It's the time to deliver now and this is the best stage to announce it,” she said.

The Miss India disclosed that 10% of her earnings from the first advertising assignment would be contributed towards offering scholarships to poor girls, which CAMS does every year.

Vice-chancellor Jaspal Singh appreciated the achievement of the beauty queen and said she had made the varsity proud. CAMS director Gurmeet Singh Mann said Navneet had worked really hard to bag the crown.
