Various studies had proved that mobile towers emit dangerous radiations, which may lead to various diseases, including cancer, but due to the apathetic attitude of the authorities concerned in dealing sternly with this practice, the mobile companies have installed their towers in various localities of the town and are compromising with the health of the inhabitants.

Mobile Towers installed in a residential area at Gaushala Road in Fazilka.

Around the town mobile towers had been installed on the roofs of houses at Bank Road, Baan Bazaar, Gandhi Chowk, Shastri Chowk and Gaushala Road besides other areas of Fazilka. Mobile towers have also been installed even near educational institutes in some cases.

"We have repeatedly raised the matter with the local authorities to shift out these mobile towers but nothing has been done so far," rued Gautam Chaudary, another local resident.

When contacted Basant Garg, deputy commissioner, Fazilka, assured to seek a report and initiate action as per law.
