Moga school van driver booked for 'molesting' teacher

The district police on Tuesday booked Sukhraj Singh, driver of a private school van, on the charge of molesting a teacher. Suraj Pal, station house officer (SHO) of Chrik police station, said the victim, a resident of Madeeran Wala Nawan village under Baghapurana subdivision in the district, told the local police that the driver molested her aboard the van when she was going home on December 24, 2014.

Suraj Pal, station house officer (SHO) of Chrik police station, said the victim, a resident of Madeeran Wala Nawan village under Baghapurana subdivision in the district, told the local police that the driver molested her aboard the van when she was going home on December 24, 2014.

"When all schoolchildren had been dropped at their respective destinations, Sukhraj stopped the van and molested me. When I raised the alarm, he fled from the spot," the woman said in her complaint.

"A case has been registered against Sukhraj, a resident of Rode village, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code at the city (south) police station. No arrest has been made so far," the SHO said.
