I love other dogs and cats as well and can adjust to any environment. I am also very low maintenance.” This Facebook and WhatsApp post is from Buddy, a month-old male pup, looking for a foster home.
Not that he doesn't have one. Rohit Beri and Sandra Beri, who have moved back to India from Dubai recently, had found Buddy lying on a road with a fracture. “He was all cramped up and shivering. We brought him home. But we have another pet from Dubai who is ferocious and attacked him. Then we took him to a friend’s home but even her pet dog did not accept him,” says Sandra.
The idea to let Buddy do the talking came to the Beris from dog shows in Dubai. “The British firms make puppies wear bibs to tell about themselves. I thought an emotional first-person account by Buddy would help us get him a new foster home,” says Rohit, who has recently set up a training academy for airhostesses here.
Even Buddy seems to understand why. “My foster parents cannot keep me as they have another rescue pet and he does not like me much though I tried my best to make him like me. Its okay. I understand,” the post adds.

{{/usCountry}}Just in case a little introduction helps, Buddy describes himself as, “I am super, duper energetic, full of charm and personality. And as you can see, I like to self-praise. My favourite past time is cuddling, eating, chewing (as I am is teething) and sleeping.”
But when the country is talking of Make In India, the Beris say the few enquiries they have received for Buddy have not been fruitful, as people wanted foreign breeds. "People here are too breed-conscious. He is an indi-pup. He looks a little like a German Shepherd. A woman asked us if his ears will stand up as he grows. But we couldn't promise that,” says the Panchkula-based couple..
