“Sukhpal Singh Khaira fielded from Bholath is former Congress MLA who lost in the last election and was eyeing fresh space. Before joining the Congress, he had tried ticket from the Akali Dal and this was revealed by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal in the assembly. Jagtar Singh Rajla is from a traditional Akali family who had a brief adventure with the Congress before landing in the AAP. Similar is the case with Gurpreet Singh Bhatti, Aman Arora, Anu Randhawa and Mohan Singh Phallianwala. Both Joginder Singh Chhina and Gurpartap Singh Khushalpur were with the Akali Dal till recently,” Channi pointed out in a press statement on Saturday.

He said the leaders were without any commitment to any party and playing politics of opportunism to the hilt. There are others who in their personal capacity have been hobnobbing with the Akali Dal or the Congress at one time or the other, he said.

He said going by the selection of candidates, the AAP posed no challenge to the Congress.
