MoU between PAU and KSU extended for 5 years

Aiming at strengthening ties for collaborative research and education, the existing memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and Kansas State University (KSU), USA, was extended for another five years.

Aiming at strengthening ties for collaborative research and education, the existing memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and Kansas State University (KSU), USA, was extended for another five years.

Vice-chancellor, PAU, Baldev Singh Dhillon and dean, college of agriculture, and director Kansas state research and extension, KSU, John D Floros on Thursday signed the MoU on behalf of the respective institutions.

The visiting five-member delegation was led by Floros, and comprised members, including Nina Lilja, Gary Pierzynski, Sajid Alvi and Vara Prasad.

The delegation held a discussion with senior officials, deans, additional directors, heads, and faculty members of various departments of PAU here.

Presenting the research highlights of PAU, director of research Dr SS Gosal said the university has developed and recommended 717 crop varieties and hybrids since its inception.

In his address Floros said: “We hope to work together on many aspects. As water depletion is being faced in Punjab and Kansas state as well, the two institutes can make a joint effort to check this problem.”
