NGT allows skiing competition activities at Solang Nallah

National Green Tribunal on Wednesday allowed skiing activities at Solang Nallah only for sports competition purpose while no relief was provided to other commercial activities.

It also directed the Inderprastha Gas Limited to submit a proposal for direction of the tribunal to ensure CNG gas availability and to setup a filling station at Sunder Nagar.

Tribunal also directed state to frame the relief and rehablitation policy and approach the government for its implementation.

The case is listed for October 5 in New Delhi.

Earlier the green panel had directed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday to provide CNG-fitted buses to the Himachal Pradesh Transport Corporation (HRTC) for the Rohtang region, said Himachal Pradesh senior additional advocate general at New Delhi Suryanarayan Singh.

DMRC had stated that though they had shortage of buses, but for trial basis, they could provide two buses to Himachal Pradesh at the nominal rate of Rs 70,000 per vehicle for 7 days, which amounts to Rs 10,000 per day per vehicle. For a month of trial, it will be Rs 3 lakh and not 40 lakh as projected by the state.

The matter was listed before the principal bench comprising chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar, Judicial member Justice MS Nambiar, expert members Dr Devendra Kumar Agrawal and Prof AR Yusuf.
