State core committee meeting of National Population Education Project (NPEP) was held at UT secretariat, here on Friday.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of UT finance secretary VK Singh.
Director higher education Gurpreet Kaur Sapra and director State Institute of Education (SIE) Surender Dahiya attended the meeting.
Dahiya appraised the committee about the role of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in the implementation of the plan of action of NPEP for the year 2013-14.
The implementation of the plan of action was discussed with the members and all activities mentioned in the plan were approved by the chairperson and members of the committee.
The plan of action 2013-14 includes various curricular activities to be undertaken such as role play, folk dance, poster making and photo competition-cum-exhibition and a model related to the NPEP issues.
The prize winning photos will be printed as posters for further distribution to the educational institutes of the city and other states of India.
Role play and folk dance competitions will be organised at the state level in the month of September, at the regional level in October and at the national level in November.
