A nurse of the Khyala de-addiction centre here has accused newly-appointed superviser of the centre Harpal Singh Sran of misbehaving with her.

The victim has filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner of Mansa alleging that, on Wednesday night, after attending to patients, the doctor, who was under the influence of alcohol, started passing some weird comments against her."

The previous superviser was transferred earlier this month after the chief minister's visit due to alleged irregular distribution of medicines. Harpal Singh was appointed in-charge of the centre a week ago.

"I merely asked her to perform her duty properly," said Harpal, while accusing the staff nurse of levelling false charges against him. "She has been callous in her attitude towards performing her operations and, being a senior, I just instructed her. I just compared her performance with one other nurse and she has picked this to level charges against me."

The nurse, accusing the doctor of having an affair with one of the nurses, said, "How can one assess the performance of a staff member in a week as he joined only a week ago?"
