ASI Surjeet Singh said according to witnesses, the overspeeding truck lost control and rammed into Sanjeev's motorcycle crushing him to death.

He was rushed to a local hospital but was declared dead there.

The accused driver, indentified as Jagga Singh, instead of stopping the vehicle, tried to escape, but later on managed to flee leaving his vehicle on the spot. The agitated people then broke the truck's windowpanes before setting it afire.

Later, the local police reached the spot and controlled the situation. A fire brigade team doused the fire.

ASI Surjit Singh said a case of negligence has been registered against the accused driver, who was later on arrested.
