Hailing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, BJP candidate from Amritsar Arun Jaitley said it would add to the overall momentum.
Calling the SAD, its partner in Punjab and Delhi, a regional party, Jaitley said there were no differences with the SAD due to their stance towards the BJP in Haryana.
“After this alliance, the debate over whether the BJP is in majority or not stops. The opinion polls have clearly indicated that who has the majority,” he said, while addressing reporters.
Jaitley said the BJP had an alliance with SAD only in Delhi and Punjab, adding that INLD was their alliance partner in Haryana. “Hence, there are no differences with SAD over their stance towards BJP in Haryana. We have state-level alliances with regional parties,” he said.
“The first round of polling is a few hours away. Polling is spread out over five weeks. A week is also a long time in politics. My appeal to the BJP supporters all over the country is that no election is over till the last vote is polled. The BJP is the clear frontrunner with its allies,” he said.
He added that in the dying hours of the campaign before the polling in each state, the grounds well for Narendra Modi, the BJP/NDA, and the desire for change was becoming clearer. “
