Taking their efforts to a new height, the administration on Friday got pamphlets bearing inspiring messages and slogans to enthuse the electorate dropped from aeroplane.

With an aim to tap the urban voters, the drive kicked off at Company Gardens and was carried out mainly in market areas and around Ranjit Avenue.

The initiative, for which the administration has roped in Fly High Agency, is a part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation project.

District election officer-cumdeputy commissioner Ravi Bhagat said nearly 100 kg of pamphlets bearing inspiring messages and slogans such as - “Go Vote 30 April 14 SVEEP DC Amritsar”- urging the residents to vote, would be dropped from the aeroplane for two more days.

“On Friday, the phamphlets dropping drive was focused mainly on the urban belt, while Saturday onwards, it would cover the rural pockets of Amritsar as well,”he said, adding a 50-foot high banner embossed with ‘’Go Vote 30 April 14 SVEEP DC Amritsar”would be floated in the air on Saturday evening.”
