Shivam Garg from Panchkula has made his parents proud by getting all-India 94th rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced-2016. The results were declared on Sunday.
He is a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, and had scored 90.2% in CBSE Class 12. In the JEE (Advanced), he has scored 247 marks. For Shivam, hard work is the key to success. “I used to study 12-13 hours a day. I believe that there is no shortcut to success, one has to work hard to achieve targets,” he said. Shivam is now planning to take admission in IIT Bombay or Delhi. “My first choice will be IIT-Bombay,” he said.
All-India second topper is Bhavesh Dhingra from Yamunanagar, who took coaching from a centre in Chandigarh. Bhavesh scored 312 marks.
About 3,500 students appeared for the JEE (advanced) examination on May 22 across eight centres in the city, out of which over 1,000 students belonged to Chandigarh. The exam was held in two slots and each paper was of 186 marks (372 total).

WEBSITE CRAWLS, STUDENTS FACE ANXIOUS MOMENTS
Immediately after the results were declared, heavy rush on official website of JEE (Advanced) slowed down the server, creating anxiety among students as they faced a lot of difficulty and ended up trying for 6-7 hours to know the result.
It took Rishab Goel eight hours to know his result. “I am sitting in front of computer from 10am and got to know my result at 6pm.” Another student Puneesh Deora, who had been checking the website since 9:30am was able to know the result at 5:30pm after struggling on the website for the entire day. It was around 4pm, when three other links were uploaded and I could get to know my result.”
