This is said to be the first of its kind initiative in the state.

For the purpose, a software was developed by Aman Thakur, associate professor at Sai College, Bungal Badhani.

The entire education staff of the district under the guidance of the district education officer (DEO-secondary) extended their full support in designing the software, overall planning and execution of the project, claimed Sukhvinder Singh, Pathankot DC.

The software was created on the basis of existing formative assessment test, which was being conducted after every three months in traditional way, but now would be conducted online, he added.

He said, “This is the first phase of software implementation, in which students of Class 6 to 12 from 39 senior secondary and 24 high schools of Pathankot district have appeared online. The software has been tested in all these schools and middle schools, while the remaining high schools will be tested in the second phase.”

“Pathankot has become the first district in Punjab to introduce online examination in government schools. After the completion of this phase of examination, a project proposal will be sent to the government for further implementation,” he concluded.
