In a statement issued here, she said it was on the special demand of the farmers that the agri-technologies pertaining value-addition are being disseminated to them.

For the promotion of value-addition in rose products, a complete technology of pure rose syrup preparation was transferred to Gurpreet Singh Shergill, a diversified farmer with specialisation in floriculture and the owner of Shergill Agricultural Farm, Majhal Khurd, Patiala.

Sachdev said a detailed preparation of rose extract, rose concentrate, rose water, rose syrup and dried rose residue was demonstrated to Shergill, who showed keen interest in learning the technology.
She disclosed that pure rose syrup is rich in anthocyanins, which is a health promoting compound and acts as an anti-oxidant.
