Vice-chancellor Dr Jaspal Singh said the decision of setting up the centre was taken after the initiatives of the Punjab government to attract major industrial houses in its recent concluded investors' summit to make Punjab one of the center-stage investor-friendly destinations in the country.

"The state government has showcased its industrial potential as per the new industrial policy and displayed the business insight at the meet," he said.

Registrar of the university AS Chawla, who is a senior professor of management, said the centre would cater to the consultancy requirements of large, medium and small-scale industry in the field of marketing, finance, management of human resources and enterprise resource planning.

"The customised training and development programmes of the centre will add value to the managerial cadres of business and industry in the state," Chawla added.
