Phagwara MC set to launch toll-free helpline number

After launching its website a month ago, Phagwara municipal corporation (PMC) is set to launch a toll-free helpline number within a week to provide better and quick services to residents of the city. The helpline 1800-137-7771, named 'MC Phagwara CRAMAT' (municipal corporation citizens' reporting and mapping tool), would be launched by the chief parliamentary secretary (urban local bodies) Som Parkash.

The helpline 1800-137-7771, named 'MC Phagwara CRAMAT' (municipal corporation citizens' reporting and mapping tool), would be launched by the chief parliamentary secretary (urban local bodies) Som Parkash.

Surinder Singh, assistant town planner of PMC, said that the helpline would be like a doorstep service for the residents.

"People will be able to lodge every type of complaint related to streetlights, water supply or sewerage, sanitation, horticulture and encroachments through this helpline. The complaint and will automatically get transferred to the department concerned in a day", he said.

He said the complaints would within a certain time period. The complaints would also be kept informed about the status of the complaints through the SMS facility.
