During the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’, Dhian Singh Mand had been appointed ‘acting jathedar’ of the Akal Takht, Amrik Singh Ajnala as ‘jathedar’ of Takht Keshgarh Sahib and Baljit Singh Daduwal as ‘jathedar’ of Takht Damdama Sahib. They were later arrested on various charges, including sedition.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mann said ‘bhog’ of ‘akhand paath’ would be held on December 15 to mark the completion of two months of the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari village and the killing of two protesters in Behbal Kalan police firing.

He alleged that the Punjab government had neither been able to arrest the real culprits of the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib nor trace the holy book stolen from Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village in June.

Mann said all Panthic factions which had supported the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ and were against the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal would join hands for the 2017 assembly elections.
