Police arrest Ludhiana man in connection with Jan 2012 murder

Police here on Sunday made another arrest in connection with the murder of alleged gangster Sumit, a Jalandar resident who was found murdered in the bushes near a canal bridge in Neelon in January 2012.

Police here on Sunday made another arrest in connection with the murder of alleged gangster Sumit, a Jalandar resident who was found murdered in the bushes near a canal bridge in Neelon in January 2012.

An official of Dugri police claimed that Vikramjit Singh alias Chhinda, a resident of Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar, was also a part of the group that had murdered Sumit. Police have also reportedly seized a country-made pistol from his possession.

Dugri police had arrested key accused Vikas Talwar and his brother Amrish Talwar last week. The cops had claimed to have solve the blind murder case on July 23 by arresting Sanjay Disavar, a resident of Valmiki Colony of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar; Rajwant Singh of Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Gurmeet Singh of Satjit Nagar, and Suneet, Sahil Sethi and Amit Kumar on July 23. Three other accused in the case are yet to be arrested. "we have launced a manhunt to arrest them," said inspector Jatinder Jit Singh, the station house officer of Dugri police.
