The police on Thursday arrested a person, who used to trick ATM users and change their cards with the duplicate ones.
The accused, Ankur Goyal of Pratap Colony, Mundian, used to target people who faced problems while using their ATM cards. He kept an eye on the visitors to the ATM centres in the city and after identifying his target, he used to offer them help.
The people used to hand over their cards to him for proper insertion into the machines and amid this, the accused used to change the cards with fake ones. He later used to withdraw money. He has duped several persons in this way.
Mundian Kalan police check post incharge Sanjeev Kumar said four cases, in which Goyal had cheated people, have come to the fore. He had cheated a cop in similar way in Moti Nagar in 2012. Sanjeev said that more people were being traced, who were victimised by Goyal.
