False cases are being slapped against AAP workers and both SAD and Congress are resorting to this tactic to frighten the party workers, Joint secretary of AAP’s Punjab Legal Cell Navdeep Singh Jeeda said in a press conference on Friday .

Citing examples, he said that party worker Sukhjit Singh was booked at Bhucho police post in a case under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code. Similarly, he said party volunteer Mukesh Kumar and his son Dikshant were booked in a case under arms act and section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC without any reason, while, he alleged, a party worker was murdered by crushing him under a vehicle in Kaljharani village, but police did not register a murder case.
