Police chalk out special security plan for New Year's eve
To avoid any untoward situation on the New Year's eve, the police have chalked out a special security plan. Besides, beefing up security across the city, the police have also made it clear that they will not tolerate hooliganism in the name of celebrations. The police will not allow dancing on roads and anyone to play loud music in their vehicles.

The police have also been holding meetings with hotels, restaurants and clubs holding New Year programmes to avoid untoward situation.
Police commissioner Pramod Ban said the police have formed several teams to keep a tab on the activities. The traffic police will be on duty to deter drunken driving and speeding. Police patrolling parties will make sure that nobody creates hooliganism on city roads.
Ban said, “People can enjoy New Year's eve, the police are there for their safety and security. The police will emphasise more in areas, including Sarabha Nagar, Ferozepur Road, Pakhowal Road, Model Town, Dugri, Chandigarh Road, Mall Road and Ghumar Mandi, as more rush is expected here.”
