Romi Uppal, son of a senior police officer and a key accused in the case of attack on Burundi student Yannick Nihangaza, was Sunday remanded to two days police custody.
Romi was produced at Jalandhar in a court which sent him to two days police custody.
Uppal, son of Punjab superintendent of police Dharam Singh Uppal, had surrendered before police on Saturday.
However another accused in the case Amandeep Singh was still at large. Police had earlier arrested Sahil Deep Singh and another accused Sumeet in the case.
Meanwhile, Yannick's family Sunday said that they have got partial relief as three persons have been arrested by Punjab police and the state government has come to their help after the media highlighted their plight. They, however, attributed the help as "too little too late".
Yannick's cousin brother Deogratias said, "It's been 79 days. A police officer is supposed to protect people, not to harbour a criminal. There are other criminals, they have to be arrested".
"And the police officer father has also to be asked why he has chosen to obstruct justice. He's chosen to harbour a killer. It doesn't matter whether it's his son or not. Right now we are meeting with some officials. They are saying we have to transfer Yannick to PGI," Deogratias said.

{{/usCountry}}He said that four or five people are still at large as there were about 10 people who attacked Yannick Nihangaza on April 21 and he continued to be in a state of coma for the last two months.
