The traffic police department is all set to get the song on traffic awareness aired on local TV channels, which has been penned down and sung by a government school teacher, Karamjit Singh Grewal.
Prior to it, the traffic police and district transport department had presented roses to the traffic violators to make them realise their mistakes.
Karamjit Singh Grewal, a Punjabi teacher of Government High School, Kheri Jhameri, has got his song titled 'Teri Badi Lod' recorded and its video shows people violating traffic rules on the roads of Ludhiana. Grewal has tried to give a message to the public to obey road rules in order to avoid mishaps.
Rajinder Raj, one of the friends of Grewal, has composed music for him.
"I have seen how people violate traffic rules and create problems for themselves as well as others. An idea struck my mind so I penned a song on this issue. Traffic police officers, who had come to watch a play at Government High School, Kheri Jhameri, liked the song very much that we had sung in a sequel of the play. The officers then suggested me to get the song recorded,"said Grewal.
"Traffic missionary and industrialist Rahul Verma has helped us in getting the song recorded. We are planning to release a video album of songs composed for awareness,"he added.

About Karamjit Singh Grewal
Karamjit Singh Grewal is a Punjabi teacher at Government High School, Kheri Jhameri. He received state award in 2009 and national award in 2013 for his remarkable services in teaching. Earlier, Grewal was awarded for composing a Punjabi song 'Aao Punjabi Sikhiye' (let's learn Punjabi) by American India Foundation Trust for making pupil using modern technology. He has also composed songs on the menace of cheating in examinations 'Chann Sitare Bann Jana' that has been picked up by Punjab School Education Board.
He has written eight literature books for children. His first book on children songs won him child literature award by Punjabi Sahit Academy in 2007. tarsem.deogan@hindustantimes.com
