Poll code breach: notice to Bhagwant Mann, Dhindsa

The local deputy commissioner-cum-returning officer Kavita Singh on Saturday issued show-cause notices to Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa of the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal and Bhagwant Mann of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Dhindsa was issued the notice for his advertisement published in a Punjabi news paper without prior permission from the election commission.

Similarly, the returning officer has issued the notice to Bhagwant Mann for uploading his advertisements and speech on the social networking websites without taking approval from the district-level media certification and monitoring committee. Both the leaders have been told to submit their reply within 48 hours.
