Jasmail is on the run since January 30, after being charged with shooting a youth, Nishan Singh, to death outside a polling booth on the election eve this year. On January 2, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi had campaigned for Satkar Kaur. Shera Khuban, one of the five co-suspects, was killed in a police encounter in Bathinda a few weeks ago.
