District election officer, Kaithal, NK Solanki said that the villagers were demanding to shift the police jurisdiction to the adjoining Kaithal police station from Rajound.

They are also demanding patwar or revenue office jurisdiction from Rajound to Kaithal.

"Registries of Kakaut village are being done at Kaithal but they unfoundedly suspect that the village may be attached with tehsile offic at Kalayat whereas there is no such proposal," said Solanki, also the deputy commissioner.

He said that a large number of youths protested and villager unanimously said no to voting.

"I along with the Kaithal SP held a detailed meeting with them. We hope that the villagers would join voting later in the day," he said.

He said that the residents had never raised their objection in this regard and suspect that the villagers were misguided by certain unknown section.
