A 37-year-old man received serious injuries and goods worth several lakh rupees were destroyed in a fire that broke out in two electronic shops of the town located near the Gandhi Chowk in the wee hours of Wednesday.

An official spokesperson said that some passers-by noticed the smoke emitting from nearby areas soon after which the fire brigade and police were alerted.
The spokesperson said that injured Satish Kumar was taken to zonal hospital for treatment where his condition was stated to be stable.
The Hamirpur police have registered a case of fire and further investigation in the cause of fire was being investigated.
